Terry had to deal with three challenges working with the O’Donnell’s to find a new home. The first of these was that we were going to buy house in Bend, Oregon, but we lived in Hillsboro Oregon, about 190 miles away. The second challenge was that we wanted to avoid moving twice – that is, we did not want to spend the money on rental housing while we waited for our new home in Bend to be finished, and we did not want to pay the movers twice. The third challenge was that we had planned a week’s vacation a year in advance, as well as two adjacent weeks at the north Oregon coast on business. As it turned out, those were the three weeks before the closing of our Hillsboro house, and the closing of the new house in Bend. To help as choose a house, Terry adjusted his schedule to accommodate the only two times that we could travel to Bend to look at homes. Terry showed us homes that we found on Zillow as well as – based on our wants and needs -- houses that he knew about that we had not previously found on the internet. We very much appreciated Terry’s cheerful willingness to accommodate our limited time frame for viewing. Although he’s a busy fellow, he made us feel like his only clients.Toward the end of our second trip to Bend, we found the house that we wanted. It was not on the market yet, but it would be soon. And then we would have 45 days (according to the builder’s rules) to close on the house. In the meantime, we had an offer on our house that stipulated the sale would be contingent upon the sale of our buyer’s house. As the closing deadlines grew nearer, we grew more anxious because our financing was dependent upon the sale of our home and our buyer, although they had a lovely home themselves, had only one firm offer.Toward the end of the 45 days, when we were out of town, we thought we might lose the opportunity to buy the home we really wanted, but Terry was able to negotiate with the seller and get an extension of two weeks. That extension saved us at least $5,000 in temporary housing and extra moving fees because we did not have to move twice. Terry was also extremely helpful by coordinating with our realtor in Hillsboro to make sure all the selling and buying closing dates worked out – something that was definitely beyond my ability to take care of. Whenever I had questions, Terry was there to answer them patiently with full and satisfactory explanations. Were we to sell or buy another home in the Bend area, Terry would be our first choice of realtors.

Terry has a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in navigating the real estate market in Bend. He understood exactly what we were looking for and always kept in close contact. Terry was extremely patient with us, promptly answering all our many questions, emails, texts...even while on vacation. We were confident in Terry’s advice about when to make an offer or how to make our offer stand out above the rest.
